The 50c Ferry: You can highlight that the ferry from Redland Bay to the islands costs only 50 cents each way, making it an incredibly budget-friendly trip.
Free Island Hopping: Once visitors pay the 50c to get to the first island, traveling between Russell, Lamb, Macleay, and Karragarra is free—they only pay again when returning to the mainland.
No Booking Needed: Visitors don't need to book the ferry in advance; they can simply "tap on and tap off" using a Go Card or a credit card/smartphone.
Parking: For those driving to the ferry, there is a large free car park at the Redland Bay Marina, though it can get busy with commuters
Frequency: Ferries are very frequent, running every 15 to 30 minutes in the mornings and afternoons.
Don't let the parking at the marina stress you out! For the easiest trip to the islands, follow this simple Park & Ride plan:
Park Near Woolworths: Head to the streets near Woolworths Redland Bay (on Broadwater Terrace). There is often plenty of street parking available here compared to the busy ferry terminal.
Catch the 50c Bus: Walk to the nearest bus stop and hop on the Route 250 bus.
Flat Fare Advantage: Thanks to the Queensland Government initiative, the bus ride will only cost you 50 cents.
Door-to-Door Service: The bus will drop you right at the Redland Bay Marina entrance, where you can walk straight onto the ferry (also just 50 cents!) to begin your Art Trail adventure.
